Essential vs. Fragrance Oil
Essential oils are collected in the water distillate during the production and concentration of fruit juices. Upon separation from the water, the remaining oil contains the highly volatile top notes of the natural juice. Essential oils are normally liquid, but in some case may be solid depending on temperature. Fragrance oils are usually derived from some of the more expensive essential oils (like Rose) and mixed with some other base oil (ususally Jojoba) to extend the life of the oil. Because fragrance oils contain other ingredients besides just the pure essential oil, they cannot be classified as true essential oils.
